Introducing Manolo
Meet Manolo, he is hispanic and born right in the Canary Islands of Spain. Although he has lived in the United States for most of his life, he and his family incorporate their spanish culture into their everyday lives. Manolo speaks fluent spanish; and even though in the United States his lifestyle is somewhat different from mine because he lives a lifestyle similar to one in Spain, where he is originally from.
At home, Manolo speaks spanish with his parents rather than english because it is in fact his first language. Also since he is spanish Manolo is Catholic, as most spanish people are. Being hispanic, Manolo faces the misinterpretation that he is Mexican, which he is not. Just because he speaks spanish does not make him Mexican, and people tend to not know the difference he says.
A Regular Day
On a regular day, Manolo attends school and he is also a very talented golfer. Manolo is on the school golf team and golfs on his own time also, with other groups. Manolo golfs so much and has a deep passion for it that he even is released early from school to play. After school and golding, on a normal day Manolo goes home and eats the spanish dinner his mom cooks.
Spanish Food at Home
Typically, spanish food is mainly rice based, Manolo also says how he eats a lot of soups and that spanish people tend to eat a lot of delicious desserts. Manolo also described how he eats "tapas," tapas are regular dishes eaten in Spain; they are just smaller portions of food but eaten more frequently in the day.
The Future
In the future Manolo plans on going to college, and also has hopes of becoming a professional golfer. All in all even though Manolo lives in the United States he embraces his Spanish ethnicity and is very proud of his interesting culture.
