My Work This Quarter
As a whole I believe my work this quarter can be described as in depth. I have worked hard all quarter to make sure that everything I turned in was good quality, full of my best effort, and as in depth and insightful as possible. For example, throughout the quarter many of my blog posts are lengthy, yet they go very in depth about each topic; such as my blot analyzing The Hulk or "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." All in all, this quarter I have my hardest to get a complete understanding of every piece of work I read so I could then go in depth with analyzing it.
My Greatest Success
Taking the whole quarter into consideration, I believe my best work this quarter consists of the first discussion about the book, "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley, and also vocabulary. I made sure to get a deep and clear understanding of the book "Frankenstein" so I could discuss it to the best of my ability and make sure that what I had to say about the book was meaningful. Therefore, since I made sure to receive a clear understanding of the book and make meaningful comments in the discussion, I received a 100 as my grade. Also, all quarter I succeeded in vocabulary on membean, every new word I learned I made sure that I fully knew what it meant. However, to get a good understanding of each word meant that I had to maintain 15 minutes of practice five days a week, which I did.
My Greatest Challenge
My greatest struggle this quarter would have to be the time spent analyzing the book, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." I enjoyed the plot of the book, and the ending of it along with the meaning; however it ooh me a while to really grasp the concept of the story and what was going on. The book was a bit confusing at first, which was difficult, but after finishing the story and analyzing ever aspect of it I was able to gain a better understanding of what was happening. Once I understood the book fully, I was able to create work for it as in depth as possible and make my own conclusions about the meaning of the story as a whole.
How I Can Learn From this Quarter
Something that I have learned to do this quarter that I will carry on doing for the rest of the school year is, to keep up with every assignment. I learned that once one assignment is procrastinated on, or forgotten about, it is hard to get back into a routine of getting everything done on time and done well. If I want to keep creating many pieces of in depth work it is imperative that I let no assignment fall behind because they are all important and are all factors of my ending quarter grade. Overall, if I just keep up with every assignment I will stay on task and on the right path for a great year in this English class.
